Mia Johnson is an award-winning book designer, art director, and illustrator. She is currently Assistant Art Director at Clarkson Potter, an imprint of Penguin Random House.
To date, Mia has designed 14 New York Times-bestselling illustrated books, including Dessert Person by Claire Saffitz, and her follow-up What’s For Dessert, The Home Edit, Baking With Dorie by Dorie Greenspan, Half-Baked Harvest Every Day, True Comfort by Kristin Cavallari, and many others. Her designs for Accidentally Wes Anderson, How to Live With Objects, and Vino were selected as AIGA 50 Books winners, her cover design for How to Cook Without a Book was awarded 1st Place by the New York Book Show, and she was a featured speaker at Cherry Bombe’s Cooks & Books for her work on Dessert Person. She has designed and illustrated books and stationery products published by Clarkson Potter, Princeton Architectural Press, Chronicle Books, Voracious, Harvest, Simon & Schuster, Rodale, Timber Press, Countryman Press, and others. Outside of publishing, Mia is the brand designer of Big Night, a dinner party essentials shop with locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan in New York. Her colorful designs and illustrations for Big Night were featured in Vogue.
